The Silent Sabotoge of Your Success
Are you exactly where you’re supposed to be in life? You will know the answer to this question in your gut. It might come with big feelings of resentment and frustration, or it might come with a sense of numbness and cynicism. Or, you will feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, and on the path towards your heart’s desires.
Our feeling state is a great indicator of our blocks and triggers. When you feel a big feeling it’s easy to acknowledge it. By looking deeper at your feelings, you can uncover entire worlds of programmed stories and expectations of reality that you carry and that are shaping your world. Undoing this programming is what frees you from many restrictions and allows you to find freedom to do what you truly are called to do.
After you investigate and transmute all of your triggers, you may still not be on the exact path that you desire. That’s because there are silent stories that are so deeply embedded, so deeply engrained that they are simply normal. They don’t trigger any of your negative emotions. Instead, they slink by silently, changing your course in life off the path you’re meant to be on.
These unemotional stories can be very innocuous. They can be about past experiences you’ve had or the narrative of who you are in the world. Because they are normalized in your consciousness, you won’t feel those strong emotions around them. They are the hidden killers of your dreams!
If you have mastered identifying and transmuting your emotional triggers but you still aren’t on the path you are meant to be on, ask yourself the “reasonable” reasons why you aren’t taking action toward your goals. For me, one of my invisible stories was, “I just don’t like doing things like that.” But when I investigated more deeply, I realized I was attaching one or two negative experiences to a whole world of opportunities. I was rejecting those opportunities because I had a relatively unemotional story attached to it.
Writing off opportunities because of one or two bad experiences is a protection mechanism that your past self uses to try and keep you safe from the scary future. But, by simply transforming your bad experiences into new boundaries, you can rewrite the stories that are blocking you from taking the action that you need to take to live your dream life.
Just because a story doesn’t make your heart pound or your hands shake doesn’t mean that it isn’t doing you great disservice. Check in with your silent resistance, the mild stories that seem normal and reasonable, and ask yourself if they really are. Could you simply create new boundaries and experience these opportunities in an entirely new way?
If you are ready to transmute these stories and take actions to create your dream life, schedule a call with me. I’m also hosting a retreat in Tulum in January. Hope to see you there!
